Swiss Board of Aid
Supporting the community
The Swiss Board of Aid supports the community in various ways. We sell donated clothes from Switzerland in locations for a minimal amount so that people in need can afford good clothes, especially for the very cold winter months. The raised money from selling clothes is reinvested into our projects. In exceptional situations, we also donate clothes to the people in need, for example during the coronavirus pandemic. We regularly donate children's items and clothing to a local children's home.
Already for the second time, the Swiss Board of Aid organises and transports laptops full of learning material from Labdoo to schools in South Africa. This offers children from underprivileged families to to get computer literate already at school.
For our online shop, we purchase the goods mindfully in South Africa to maximise the benefit for local people in need. For example, the children's clothes with animal motives are from a youth center for unemployed young people in a very remote area or the bags made out of African fabrics are from a group of women with cancer.
